FAQ · BEFORE YOU BUY

Questions we get asked.

Who is DIORAO?

DIORAO is an independent studio producing resin-printed historical miniatures and dioramas. The name comes from the Greek verb διορῶ (dioráō) — to see clearly, to discern detail.

Behind DIORAO is a team with years of experience in 3D printing and miniature production — this is our next brand in the space, built on lessons from everything we have done before. Same hands, sharper focus.

How do we print?

We use 16K precision MSLA resin printers running ABS-Like resin — a tougher formulation than standard hobby resin, chosen specifically so that thin parts (spear shafts, banner poles, horns, capes) don’t snap on handling. Every figure is washed, UV-cured, and quality-checked before it leaves the studio.

The resolution means details down to 0.05 mm — eyelashes, chainmail links, laurel veins — print cleanly. Nothing is hand-sculpted after printing; what you see in the render is what ships.

How long until my order arrives?

Production takes up to 5 business days. Every figure is printed to order (see below), washed, UV-cured, and quality-checked before it leaves the studio.

After production, shipping times:

  • Poland — 1–2 business days
  • Europe (EU / UK / EFTA) — 3–6 business days
  • US / Canada / Australia — 7–12 business days

Total order time: typically 5–10 days in Europe, 10–17 days worldwide.

What is your return policy? · 30-day money back guarantee

30-day money back guarantee. You have 30 days from delivery to return any figure for a full refund — no explanation needed. If you don’t like it when it arrives, send it back and we refund the product cost.

How it works:

  • Email us at dioraoarmy@gmail.com within 30 days of delivery.
  • Ship the figure back in its original packaging (foam + box).
  • Once we receive it, we refund in full within 3 business days.
  • Return shipping costs are covered by you. If the figure arrived damaged, we cover everything — just send a photo.
Primer — what do I actually receive?

Raw resin is a dark grey. Every figure is fully usable as-is for display, but primer takes you straight to paintable without an extra studio session at your bench. Pick one of three Additional treatment · Primer options on the product page:

  • No primer — grey resin figure, you prime it yourself. Default, cheapest.
  • Black primer — Stynylrez matte black applied by us. Ready for zenithal highlights or dry-brush painting.
  • White primer — Stynylrez matte white applied by us. Maximum visibility of sculpted details under paint.

A primed figure is 100% ready for your paints — open, paint, done.

Scales — what do 1:32, 1:35, 1:43, 1:48, 1:72 mean? (IMPORTANT)

Scale is a ratio, not a size in millimeters. 1:35 means the figure is 1/35 the size of the real thing. So a 1.80 m tall soldier becomes about 51 mm at 1:35 — and ~25 mm at 1:72.

Scale determines how much detail is possible and what other models your figure pairs with on the shelf. Always check the scale before buying — a 1:72 figure fits in your palm; a 1:32 figure owns a shelf.

We offer five scales. 1:35 is the default — that is what is shown in the main product photo unless stated otherwise.

  • 1:32 — ~56 mm. Showcase scale, pairs with 1:32 vehicles.
  • 1:35default, ~51 mm. The classic military diorama scale.
  • 1:43 — ~42 mm. Pairs with diecast cars and model railways.
  • 1:48 — ~37 mm. Collector scale, pairs with 1:48 aircraft kits.
  • 1:72 — small, ~25 mm. Wargaming and mass-battle scale.

Every product page includes a scale table showing the exact height of that specific figure in every scale we offer it in. Trust millimeters, not the render.

Why does it say "Made to order — production up to 5 days"?

Every figure is printed on demand after you order, not pulled from stock. That is how we keep nine historical eras × five scales × multiple treatments in the catalog without warehousing thousands of SKUs.

Production takes up to 5 business days (wash, cure, QA), then we dispatch. So total order time is typically 5–10 days in Europe, 10–17 days worldwide — see shipping times above.
